Well, in reading this thread....
http://www.thephotoforum.com/forum/...6-my-ultra-low-light-test-shot-12800-iso.html

I wanted to see how the different makes and models stacked up against one another as far as image quality is concerned. I realize that this is an exercise in futlilty since we aren't all able to take a picture of the same thing, but it will give folks an idea of what they are looking at. I wanted to start a new thread, as to not hijack the one above..... so forgive me if this is too much of a repeat.

The rules.....

please post EXIF data...... and NO PP!!! Also, please post from your higest ISO no matter how rediculous it is. This could be fun.

Here are a couple of shots from my lunch break at work. There is very little light in my cubicle, so the reflection you see in the vitamin C bottle is the only light source on the "subject". Also, these are straight from the camera, converted from RAW to JPEG and imported into photobucket.

First is ISO 12,800, second is ISO 25,600.

Taken with a Nikon D7000
Lens - 35mm 1.8G
FL - 35mm
shutter 1/80th (1st) 1/160th (2nd)
F/8

ahem...you shouldn't take more then 1 multi vitamin a day...you can actually become toxic from too much of certain vitamins....
I'm just saying..
lol
Too much vit A...can cause CNS disorders...(for instance)
Are ya sick or something? lol
and btw...they look the same to me.

looks like it's at a store. I think that's the same modular shelving you see in grocery

you can tell the difference between the two. neither photo is very well exposed. one a day is in white bottles and it's not white

Wow. I need to get me a d7000!!!!!

I'm stuck with a d40 right now, and shooting at iso 1600 looks worse than 25,600 on the d7000. SO NOT COOL!!!! I'm jealous!!

And I'm broke.

You win. :D

Haha, I'm broke too. I'm selling my d40 this weekend, and scrounging up enough cash to upgrade to a used d90 off of ebay. Then I'm gonna save as hard as I can to get the d7000, and keep the 90 as a second body.

Now if only my car would stop breaking down I might get one eventually!! :grumpy:

There is a thread over on dpreview on how the d7000 could almost be considered an iso-less camera due to the efficiency of it's sensor. An interesting read.
