Actually, it is level, believe it or not. Check out the light post on the top closest to the center.

Kinda interesting. I can definitely see what drew you to it, just not sure how compelling it is as a photo. I've taken LOTS of these, where I'm really attracted to the lines, or the geometry and angles, but then the final product just isn't as compelling as it was irl.

Straightening would help. *maybe* getting rid of some of the wires and poles at the top would help, and that light in the upper right that draws my eye.

I had an extremely quick go at a different edit on it--straightened it a little (probably not quite level even yet), cropped it, and then dodged the center just a bit. Don't know that I think it's "better" though, just different.

I like what you did with that edit, but if you take a look at the corners, you can see that they now sway toward the right as they get closer to the bottom of the shot. But you know what, I like seeing other people's interpretations of what I see, so I appreciate that.

At first I thought it needed to be leveled, too, but then I realized I was looking at ramps. Then I started to see how what I thought were straight lines weren't and they were going in all directions...and I liked it even more than I did at first glance. It's like an Escher drawing

this thread has me totally lost. Not just your post, a couple. Have you guys never been in a parking garage or something? if it is all level how would you get to the top?

Of course we have seen parking garages, but not all parking garages look alike. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not used to seeing parking garages built around a "courtyard" open space, so I don't normally see the ramps from an external perspective. Also, this seems like the whole thing is one long ramp, gradually getting taller over the course of all four lengths instead of having three level stretches and one steeper ramp that goes between floors. The angle is not immediately apparent in this structure and from the perspective this photo shows. It presents itself as "slightly off." This being a photography forum and all of us being photographers, we are "primed" in a way, or predisposed (at least while viewing C&C threads) to think of photography-related reasons for why these lines seem off-kilter. First thought? Needs to be straightened. Then the rest of the brain catches up and realizes what it's looking at and starts to understand the context of the image better.
