Light and Dark

The original idea behind this shot was to capture that wonderful gamut of the full grayscale with a composition that would challenge me more than shooting a simple gray card. I know it is hard sometimes to look past the objects and concentrate solely on the light. I am actually not sure it can be done unless the objects are also overly compelling...that's my cross to bear. So, in this crop of my other posted work ala amolitor's suggestion of a tighter crop - he likes square and I can't seem to wrap my head around that but can ease my way to this place.

I like it better this way as I start with the hanging moss and then wander from there. Good but not in your top 10.

That's the crop. puts the emphasis on the sunlit feathery moss vs the shaded hard wall.

Prefer this aspect to long and narrow as well
