I'm building a light tent about 24" square to shoot things as small as rings and watches to vases for insurance purposes. For lighting I have a three cheap hardware store work lights with 12" aluminum bowl reflectors. I can use either incandescent, fluorescent or halogen bulbs. I am shooting with a Nikon D-90 with a 18/105 kit zoom lens and filter type close-up lenses. I have a 18% grey card and can use custom white balance. I'm obviously doing this on the cheap to document objects, but would like to get the truest color balance I can. Which of the three light sources I mentioned would give me the best results?

Many thanks, Tom Beard

My bet would be on incandescent or halogen bulbs for the easiest and best results from a Custom WB.

Thanks for the replys. Darrell, every time you answer my questions you are always spot on! Tks, Tom.
