Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hi
First post :)
Ok, still new to this, had my camera about a month now, but really learning as much as i can and trying loads of different things.
Wanted to do studio style early on, so got some strobes and softboxes etc right from the beginning.
This is my attempt at getting the lighting right.... not the most exciting pose but its the sort of area im looking at getting better at. Let me know what you think and what you would change. Oh, the background had wrinkles which i mostly blurred out but got bored and left a few in.

**** removed for now, to update a little *******

And this one is fireworks, just for something different :)

oh sorry....... try it now :)

looks good, but i can see wrinkles in the background by her left elbow

Yep, there be wrinkles :)
I still need to take them out, but havent got round to it........ the whole background was wrinkled :(
I used gaussian blur on a layer to fix them, but didnt sort the ones close to the model, i should do it, but laziness and other photos have got in the way.....
I will fix tonight :)

I haven't done any studio shoots for a very long time and, the ones I did do were very different to this. All I will say is that, even though you have used the studio lights, you should also remember to set the angle of your flash so you capture the entire face.

Like I said, this is completely different to the studio shoots I have done but I hope it helps a bit.

Thanks.
Do you think i should have lit the whole face? I was actually trying to avoid that, i wanted so shadow to give it a bit of shape, ive done some with even lighting across the whole face but thought it was a bit flat. I also like the look of lights on both sides, might post some ive done like that too.

Welcome to TPF.

 In portraiture, shadows are our friend.

#1 is nicely done. You have a a good lighting ratio on her face. One little nitpick, although you have a nice angle of the shoulders front-to-back, I think if you had her lift one shoulder slightly higher it would create a slightly more dynamic pose. Look up / Google feminine head tilt.

Thanks for sharing.

I like the quality of your photos ! Nice shots,indeed...Fireworks looks really nice!

I'm really liking the lighting in #1.
