Light was 2 large windows to the left.

This I used one of my Novatron lights through an umbrella.

Also, can someone point me in the direction of a great indoor lighting tutorial or book? I have an older Novatron set that I have no clue how to really use, but try experimenting with it. I'm hoping I can learn from you guys and figure it out eventually!

Nice! The best free/easily available lighting resource I've found is strobist.com, altho they specialize in speedlight the basic principles are covered on that site in great simple detail.

The lighting isn't bad; a touch hot perhaps, especially in #3, but focus seems very soft. As far as lighting books, the list is endless. I second 2Wheel's recommendation of The Strobist Blog.

Probably soft due to shutter speed, what was the shutter speed ?

1/125 in the third shot. I dunno on the first 2.

Love the soft touch on the first two images together, although there is no emphasis on their previous skin or eyes or any part of them being a portrait picture, the second one has better emphasis on the eyes, however the light used makes the image look a bit blueish..I love trying with different natural light environments and my suggestion to you will be keep working with the two big windows, use that lightning better then learn all you can from blogs, online books, etc on lighting then try to use the studio lights you have ;) good job tho!
