Lighting Test - C&C Welcome

I had my model come back for a second shoot to try to figure out lighting. I was only really working on making sure I could light a face well and throw in some backlight. These two were the standouts for me from the shoot. The first is a glamour headshot and the second is a more relaxed sunny day pose. These were both shot using an off camera flash and reflector in daylight. C&C is, as always, very welcome.

I like where you are going with the second. I'd rather see blowouts and wrapping around the hairline but a properly exposed face. There's something about it that seems a little flat, but I do like it.

the first seems underexposed and I dont like the hotspot on the hair, I'd rather her face to more lit instead.

I think maybe on the first, I could have moved the flash to the left side and used the reflector to fill the right side instead. It probably would have been more dynamic too. Need to note that for next time. On the second, I see what you mean, I should have gotten a bit of contrast on the face. Again, more notes for the next shoot. Thanks!

On the first, I think you need to up the exposure a little bit. The lighting is nice though. There aren't any harsh shadows, but there's enough sculpting of the face so that the lighting doesn't seem too flat.

I also like the lighting on the second photo. It has that natural kind of radiance that comes from exposing for the face while letting the background blow out a bit. It's a popular look. I would check the color on it as well. On my screen it seems really magenta.
