I would like to buy a hand held light meter. I'm on somewhat of a budget, preferably something less than $100. Can anyone help?

Sekonic makes an analog model that will meter both incident and reflected light. It sells at Adorama for $89. It's the match-needle type, but it should work just fine. I'm thinking about getting one myself.

my dad has a realy old analog one...but hes not sure how to use it or where the manual is...is there nothing for around $100 in digatal...not that its completly necessary

anyone know how to find really cheap light meters?
i looked a little a few months ago and found nothing. a photometer would be a really cool tool to use in building/designing architectural models. WV just isn't up to speed with stuff.

If you are looking for new, you'll only find the most basic models, or off brands for less than $100. Although you might be able to find a better used meter for $100. I'd say start out perusing the models on the manufacturer's websites, and then see what they are going for on Ebay. I use Sekonic brand, but there are plenty of other good brands.
