What's new

Like... it's totally some pics =P

As for the first image, mind your focal plane. It's rarely a good idea to have something out of focus in front of your main subject.

I would have given the dragon fly a little more room at the top. Not a lot, just a bit.

Thanks so much for your input and advice! =D

#1 seems to be a little underexposed. Maybe the very light (possibly white?) fence caused your light meter to give you a value that would be undexposure. I will agree with the comment about the focal plane, too. Well, either the colors are really cold because of a dismal day or it is probably underexposed. Superimpose an 85 filter over the image and see what happens.

That was my first thought as well. I went straight from the dragonfly to the out of focus foliage. What a shame because I really like the photo! Despite the faux pas, I like them both! Kudos!

Thanks again for all your advice! Will definitley be more aware of the focal plane! =)

My first thoughts on #2 is to remove the left shoe. It's really not needed. What is needed is some fill flash to bring out the details of the right shoe. Keep in mind this situation. With backlit subjects, you need to add light to the subject (flash or reflector usually) to see something other than a blob. This advice is thrown out the window if you're doing a silhouette, but this shot doesn't seem to be intended that way.

Very interesting catch, especially #2.
