Live monitor options?

I have a really old laptop that is really in a way back-breaking to carry around, especially at college (I use it as a live monitor for my cannon). Naturally, I want to not break my back anymore and travel lighter. Obz being a student = low funds so im looking at some cheaper tablets like these. Guessing the windows one would be best for me as still use a lot of windows stuff for school. But has anyone got experience with using tablets in this price range?
