I like the second one more. Looks like it could be improved with a bit of Post processing though.. A contrast boost, perhaps?
Anyway, Overall its a pretty decent set, Kinda boring, but i think thats what you were going for. I like the simplicity..

I find the composition in #2 more interesting... I like the color but I wouldn't mind seeing it in b/w.

I'd vote for BW because in this case I think the color is nothing more than a distraction. Either composition works for me, preferably without such a strong vignette in the second.

If you want to convey the feeling of "loneliness" then the subject should be all alone, and the second image conveys that much better than the first. I assume that the original is in colour, and that the water would be showing reflected blue sky? If so, that would work better than the selective colour you used in the second, because the yellow of the boat would contrast with the blue of the reflected sky. The other thing I notice is that the image does not appear to be very sharp, but I can't tell if that is due to focusing issues, or the lens. Would you mind posting the original?
