Just a shot of some christmas decor I took the other night while experimenting with OCF. It was taken with the Tokina 100mm and a silly cardboard light modifier I made. It fits over the speedlight and has aluminum foil inside with a sheet of paper over the opening to soften the light. Any C&C is appreciated, I'd like to learn all I can to make better shots

I'm not sure if I am correct on this one, but couldn't one use a polarizing filter to eliminate the reflections?
Then again you might want them there too.
However, nice shot!

Right the polarizing filter would've helped , also I guess you should be adventurous in your composition try different angles and experiment with the lighting

I never really thought of trying the polarizer on there. I've got a 77mm but the macro lens is 52mm I think so I need to get an adapter for it. I kind of liked the light reflections though since I thought it helped define the shape. Maybe it would have looked better if they werent so 'hot' or sharp?

The DYI modifier looks pretty good though!
