Long Exposure Noise

Just wondering if there is anyway to avoid or lessin the noise from night shots with longer exposures with out having to take multiple exposure and or get a camera with long exposure noise reduction feature which i dont seem to be able to find on my t1i * i do have my noise reduction turned to high but still not happy with results

... do i need better sensor/camera to get what i want?

What iso are you using ?

Long exposure NR is in the custom functions menu.

Make sure you use lowest ISO possible obviously and don't be afraid to reduce noise in post. I like Photoshop's noise reduction but a lot of people like programs like 'Noise Ninja'

Your camera is more than good enough to take high quality long exposures.

i have all my night shots at 100iso .. and i've tryed higher like iso's 200 and 400 to keep the exposures down.. but that didnt help

i suck at pp work so gotta try to find that noise reducer on elements 8 or go buy ninja noise i guess
