Longboard shot

Hello, i just did some panning shots for a long boarder. I had a little bit of trouble getting her face in right focus. I worked with my Canon 7D in manual select single point AF...she was going more less slow so the panning had to be really slow as well. I shot in 1/60 sec and with an external flash. I got a good shot but i want to see if you guys have some tips to get more sharp images particularly sharp on the face.

They should be sharper than that a 1/60 with flash you must have moved up or down while panning, this was shot at 1/30 with flash and going fast on a sharp corner

You need to work on your panning technique (it takes a lot of practice to do well) and shoot slower. You said she was going slow, and it looks like it, which is not the intended effect of panning.
