Longhorn beetle (female of Pharsalia ochreomaculata Breuning, 1968?) on a rhinoceros beetle (Chalcosoma atlas?). The Cerambycid was on a wall and I moved to a more natural looking spot and then it climbed onto the rhino beetle. All unplanned.

More beetles: Some amazing Malaysian beetles! | Up Close with Nature

Those shots of the Longhorn standing on the rhinoceros beetle are fantastic! A great thing and, like you say, one of those rare events to capture that isn't something you can plan or arrange to happen. Did the rhinoceros beetle give any reaction to suddenly having a passenger ?

Beautiful beetles Kurt!

Thanks guys. No, the rhino beetle wasn't bothered at all, even though the longhorn beetle pooped on him (rhino beetle) :D
