Oh, my,gosh....I was afraid you were gonna say, "Jimmy Hoffa..."

I absolutely love the fluke shot!

Lol great shots and comedy!!! :lmao:

I told you that you would enjoy yourself! Awesome-ness Ron!

California Grey whale? Are you in Monterey? lol, do they have whales in Toronto? :lmao:

He was heading to Cape Cod so I'm ass-uming that's where he's still at!

Dang, Ron! I was expecting a leopard frog or some such. Were you on a tour boat, or did you just happen to be on the right point on the shore? And, as others said, really nice shots.

Beautiful shots! I usually have to drink at least a half a bottle of Crown before I see one of those in my pond, but they never seem to come out right on camera.

Nice shots, I really like the second one. I went on a whale watch boat tour once, out of Wildwood NJ, but all I got to see was one very uncooperative dolphin. :(

For whale-watching, the area near Tadoussac (on the north shore of the St-Lawrence River, in Quebec, here: Google Maps) is pretty good. I went on a kayak ride near Les Escoumins, and we were paddling about 1 mile offshore (a group of about ten kayaks) when we were surrounded by a pod of whales that appeared all around us, dove underneath us, and were so close that I could have touched them with my paddle. Both exhilarating, and terrifying when you don't know just how aware these beasts are of your presence. On the other hand, twice we were approached by the whales who rolled gently besides us and we could see their eyes. One even lifted up his/her front fin (about 10ft. long!!) before submerging near the kayak. Sadly, I didn't have a camera with me at the time, and even if I had, I'm not sure I would have had the presence of mind to use it. One of the kayaks actually slid off the back of one of these animals as it chose to surface where it was. Fortunately, the "collision" was pretty gentle, so no-one got dumped into the water. After about 30 minutes of them popping up all around us, they moved off, perhaps because by that time whale-watching boats saw all the commotion around us and moved in to watch. I tell ya, this was one of my life's highlights.
