Looking for battery grip and remote (80D)

I see that the BG-E14 is the grip for my recently purchased 80D, is it worth the weight? My uncle works in a camera shop and has had a battery grip on every nikon he's owned. That I liked about the nikon ones is that they look like they belong in the camera, almost seamless. I do remember them adding a bunch of bulk though. Also, I have a wired shutter remote. Would buying a wireless one work better than WiFi through the canon connect app or wood it be about the same? Also, if the stand alone remote would be better, what's my option for a canon produced remote?
