Photos NOT OK to edit
Hello everyone...I might say that everyones macro photography is AMAZING!

I am looking to buy my first Macro lens. I have a Nikon d3000. Are there any suggestions on what I should go with?

I have done a little research and what i'm finding the best for the money is a nikon af-s 60 mm.

Thanks for your feedback!!!

I had that lens years ago. It's a very sharp lens with 1:1 capability. Working distance is pretty close. I had a 90mm Tamron macro and found that lens to be about as sharp, but not quite. I did like the extra working distance. If possible, I'd try to get a macro lens around 90-105mm for the extra working distance.

I'd say the Tamron 90mm f/2.8, one with the BIM or built-in-motor for autofousing on your camera body. I have a 60mm Nikon macro lens and the Tamron 90mm...I vastly prefer the Tamron for its focal length, and for the way it handles.

I own the Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G ED IF AF-S VR and absolutely love it.

I tried a 60mm Nikkor macro at a Nikon school a few years back and you have to get way too close to get a 1:1 shot. Plus the 105mm is a awesome portrait lens as well!

I have a Sigma 50mm F/2.8 EX Macro lens for Nikon. It is listed in the Buy and Sell section if you are interested.
