I have a Joby camera sling, only remove it when a tripod is needed. What is becoming an issue for me is the screw is constantly coming loose from the camera. Made sure the screw was tight before before heading out yesterday (like I always do), when I pulled the sling over my head back at the car, the nut came free of the camera. Third time that's happened, fortuitously I've had hold of the cameras grip each time this has happened. What worries me is the time it come unscrewed while I'm not holding of the camera, gravity + concrete/hard earth + camera and I'll be screwed.

I really do not want to go back to hanging a strap around my neck, but if I can't find a way of securing the screw into the cameras socket... that's the only safe option.

Any thought that don't involve Lock-tite? Seriously, I've considered securing the attachment screw into the battery grip with Lock-tite, then removing the grip when a tripod is needed.

Put a rubber washer on the bolt, between the bolt head and camera. My Black Rapid is made with a captive rubber washer and it never gets loose.

Yep---- rubber washer. Any hardware store should have something that works.

To save wear and tear on the screw socket consider a QR clamp on the sling and a QR plate on the camera. I use an Arca-Swiss system on my Black Rapid straps and the QR clamp is screw tighten type not the lever type. B2-Pro: 60mm clamp with dual mounting - B2-Pro

I use the same system on all my tripod/monopods to keep things simple.

my joby has a rubber washer on it. i bought it maybe only a month ago. Maybe it was a problem with older productions.
