Low hanging fruit.....errr...melon?

My wife and I were walking along a little stream bed and my wife pointed into the shadow of a fallen tree and asked what was hanging there, so I got a little closer and discovered a melon vine had climbed the tree.

That might be worth using a piece of fabric to create a sling to hold the weight until it can mature.

Dean, there were serious brambles, branches and other assorted scary things below it, I'm not sure I could reach it if I wanted to. We did find more further down that were a little more accessable

Cool markings on that melon, never seen one of those.

Ron, not positive but I think it's a type of watermelon, just a guess. My search online came up inconclusive, I was amazed how many different types of watermelons there are, even some with yellow insides. I guess we will have to go back and collect one in a week or two to see whats inside.
