Low light photography

How often do you shoot at very high iso's, i would say not that often to make any difference a lot depends on the photographer and if they are any good at shooting in low light

Hi as a professional photographer I bought the Canon 5D mark 2 because of its amazing low light capabilities! It just blows me away. I can now shoot first dance without flash at around 3200! Maybe you are not using the best Raw converter. Capture One is way out in front with little or no noise at high iso. If you see my site at derbyshire wedding photographers you wont find any noise at all on any images some shot at 6400!. I was always of the understanding that Nikons weren't as good as Canon in this department. Maybe you could send an image to show the problems

Yes, the bottom line is sharpness and resolution versus picture noise at high ISOs. It is necessary to sacrifice one to get the other. Canon leans toward sharpness and resolution with MORE picture noise as a result. Nikon leans toward less sharpness and resolution but with LESS picture noise as a result. The difference is not so obvious unless you are looking at Canon and Nikon images side by side, taken of the same subject in the same low lighting conditions.

Nikon does have Canon on ISO but Canon has Nikon in out of the camera color reproduction IMO.

Every wedding... They turn the lights down/almost off every first dance... it requires 3200-6400 ISO every single time. Weddings tend to get dark as the night goes on
