this photogrpaher called Edward Steichen has just sold his resent photo for a record 1.68 MILLION!!!!!!!!! :hail:

Hehe... never thought I'd pull that one off on this board. Seriously, though. Link or pics? I'd be interested to see what was good enough for that kind of price tag.
 
I've seen better pictures by him in my opinion.

Co-founder of Photo-Secession 1902
Worked for Vogue and Vanity Fair on the 1920's
Director of Photography at the New York Museum of Modern Art from 1943
Organised the Family of Man exhibition 1955

Did a lot of gum bichromate and bromoil prints c1900 and a pioneer photographer. One of the all-time greats.
Steichen was one of the small handfull of early photographers who made Photography respected as an Art form.
Give him the respect and recognition he deserves.
