Lurgan Park Rally (lots of pics)

Was at Lurgan Park yesterday for the annual rally event. This was my first attempt at shooting competitive motorsport, so results are mixed :x

For some strange reason, when I picture rally racing, I picture speed... the photos didn't seem to reflect that for me... I think some of these would have been great candidates for a slightly longer shutter speed, in order to reveal some speed blurring. I don't know if that makes sense, but for some reason, I just don't see speed in these.

i agree, they all look like parked cars for the most part.

BUT, way too many subarus hehe

i would love to go see something like this in a park

Im new a shooting moving cars also but I found I got some good shots showing motion with a 1/60 sutter speed and panning. like this one

Good first attempt at shooting rallye pics, but indeed, all the cars look parked, we don't see there was motion at all, which is a bit of a pity.

(By the way, as of Wednesday, I am going to meet a good many of your fellow-countrypeople, Jono, but they are coming to Germany, I'm not going your way .)

thanks for the comments people. Tried a couple at slower shutter speeds & more panning, but quite frankly they were terrible. Colours were all washed out & very blury. More practice needed I think - roll on the Ulster GP motorcylce road races this weekend
