Mack Warranty - any good?

Pros/Cons? Experience?

In purchasing a 30D, I can get a 3-year MACK warranty for 80 bucks. Is this a good investment?

I've heard good and bad stories about MACK. The most common complaint was the time it took to have something repaired.

I'd say 80 dollars for 3 years isnt bad at all, so if you hear good things about the service i say go for it.

Generally speaking and from a sound financial perspective, extended warranties are not worth it, except of course to the seller, who makes big bucks and generally pay's out very little. Especially true with electronics where typically if the item is going to go bad, it does so early on and then you have the manufacturer warranty to cover it. There are of course exceptions and the occassional story of an expensive repair the day after the warranty expires. I think it is far better to have an emergency fund and to invest what you would otherwise spend on an extended warranty into the emergency fund.
