Macro Extension Tubes

Hi all,

Getting back into photography and was looking at these here (Canon EOS Close up Macro Extn. Tubes | Trade Me). Are they going to be bad for this sort of money? I think they dont have autofocus.

The problem with this type of extension tube is it does not allow communication between the lens and the camera. So when the lens is mount on the camera with the extension tube, the aperture of the lens will be set at wide open. Of course, there is a trick to set the aperture (preview button trick). But the image through the viewfinder will be quite dark when shoot at smaller aperture. So I do not recommend using such extension tube. Get the one that allow communication between lens and the camera.
