...........Considering that jumper was not even a half inch long, wow....

Well, I'm not referring to DOF. Even what is in focus doesn't look crisp.

Ok... here is another.. is this one soft?

Well, to me......... yes. But it may be me. It may be Flickr. It may be the size reduction algorithm used to resize for uploading....

Yea.. sure thing, Sparky! :)

I, and many others have learned the hard way...you get what you pay for. I bought a macro and tele screw on 'set' for less than $40 as I recall, and it was pure junk. It even fell apart when I went to unscrew it.

I'm not into macro work, but given the experiences of others on this board, I'd probably buy a good used film-era lens such as a Canon FD series lens and an appropriate reversing ring, and use that. The FD lenses are all manual settings, so the aperture can be set as big or small as you want. Also, FDs less than 100mm or so can be had for very little money.

As for -what- lens combinations work best, I haven't a clue.

My Fotodiox work fine. No trouble with attaching. For 12 bucks and a chance to learn a little they are doing the job.

If you are new, as I am, it can't hurt to try.
