I personally love my Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens. I shot all the images in these galleries with my 30D and this lens:

keep the kit lense and use it for wide angle, thats what i would do.

You could sell it to adorama for like $50 thought, spend thirty more and buy a 50 1.8 which is another option.

The 400D is ONE OF the Rebels.

That said, anything that will fit the 400D will work with any other Rebel, digital or otherwise (with the exception of Canon EF-S, Sigma DC, and other such "digital-only" lenses, which won't work too well with full-frames).
