My very first macro shot ever. Comments, questions?

This is a closeup shot, but it isn't macro. It's generally accepted that in order to be considered a "macro" shot, the ratio needs to be at least 1:1 and this requires a lens made specifically to do that.

A lot of cameras have "macro mode" settings, but unless you are using a macro lens, all that does is allow it to focus a little closer, but still may not be a true macro.

if the subject in frame is significantly larger than your sensor size, it is not a macro. Same thing if I had shot a portrait with a macro lens, it is not a macro .
