I had a project for my photography class to advertise something, so I decided to make a light box and throw some objects in there. It was pretty easy and very fun and interesting to see how I could get different angles and positions of the items. I used my 75-300 to get nice and close and get a shallow DoF.

The setup:

A few shots, tell me what you think of them.

3 They look really orange because they are. They have been sitting inside a window in the sun for a long time.

I'm only new but I think the results are great !

Would you recommend making a light box, as I'm a beginner and getting my first camera at christmas is this something I could be looking into ?

Imagine if one of the light strobe on the sofa fell and catch a fire lol.

It's definitely a really interesting and fun idea, and it is really easy to make. It's a fun thing to play around with, as you keep seeing things laying around that you can put in it and try to get some great pictures of. Do a little more research if it interests you, there's not really any reason to not do it, other than if you won't enjoy it.

They look good, but I think the b/g could be a bit lighter. Overall, the hilights seem a bit flat, maybe?
