Made my own macro lens (sort of)

Because I can't afford one at the moment, I took two adapters apart, messed around with their glasses (broke one in the process) and combined them, then I attached them to my 18-55 kit lens and I ended up being able to do this:

Oh wow amazing. That'll definately do until you can afford a macro lens. I'd like to hear more about how you managed to achieve this. Simply stunning. Good job!

Thanks! When I bought my camera they thew in a few free things and those 2 adapters as well, the Vivitar HD 2.2x 52mm telephoto lens and a Xit 0.43x HD wide angle which was attached to a glass that says 'macro' on it. What I did was I took the first three components from the vivitar (right to left in the picture) and broke the fourth one (I totally meant to do that) and then I took the from the xit (left one on the picture) and screw them together. The other glasses didn't seem to help at all in magnifying so i didn't use them.

The only bad thing about it is that I have to get really close to my subject which doesn't help when it comes to insects, but for now it's ok, I'm just experimenting and having fun until I can get a real macro lens.
