Magnificent Sunbird (Aethopyga magnifica)

Is this in the family of "honey dippers " ( at least I think that is what they were called ). The curved beak makes me ask.

Not too sure. Sunbirds tend to feed on nectar.

Dean maybe you are thinking of Honeycreeprs of which there are several species.
