These were taken today on a kayaking trip in Silver River, Fl. These monkeys were released in the area in the 80s.

Actually much earlier than the 80's. There are some pockets that have been there since the original Tarzan film was made in the 1930's. More were released by various "Jungle Cruise" tourist traps through the 80's and even into the 90's.

Nice shots- i know these things can be a huge pain to shoot.

Well thanks to this thread I learned at least 1 thing today. I had no idea there were wild monkeys in the U.S. That is incredible.

Thanks for sharing these.

Thanks. We could have gotten a little closer but were afraid to get the kayak stuck ... I took more pics but usually when I post a lot at the same time I don't get any feedback :(...

haha, you're brave- I would be too afraid to bring my camera into a kayak

Lol. Well the wind was low that day and its a two person kayak so I can take pics while my husband handles the kayak :)

My thoughts as well. I will have to look at taking a trip on the Silver River next time I am there.

Oh wow! These are exquisite. Thank you so much for sharing them.

Monkey's? You should blur them up and tell everyone you got pictures of bigfoot from a mile away, using a 1600mm lens (because you didn't want to get too close).

Good photos.

Lol I think I would have to really alternate their size to make it pass for Bigfoot lol.
