Yesterday I shot my great nephew's wrestling meet. The lighting was horrible, a rainbow of colors from high pressure spots and not near bright enough.

1. Not a good idea


2. He's gonna pay for that

4. After taking all comers, the winner


My nephew won his weight class, with ease.
Finding the perfect white balance didn't happen.
ISO was through the roof.

You might be able to kill some of the green cast by increasing the magenta slightly in color balance PS

I'm not too bothered by the noise, I like your choice of aperture, and I think these photos tell about the sport, even to those who know nothing about it (me).
Is it true: is his being given his first prize and the girl looks somewhere else in the process? :scratch: Where were her manners?

Thank you all for the very kind words and my first "like". The gym lighting was institutional like a factory. Wide open was the rule for the day (no flash allowed). Most were shot in S mode @ or near 1/320. ISO was 1600 to 4000, the D600 kicked butt. The 24-70 2.8 ruled. The awards were presented in the auditorium, where the light was much better. The presenter was a youngster, taking direction from a very busy lady, off camera left. I took some more from high up in the stands w/D300, 70-200 2.8.

You'd be amazed how bad most awards presentations end up being, unless they are well scripted. A lot of the presenters they end up using are family and friends involved in the event, and don't really pay much attention to what they are doing. It ends up being a "here ya go kid"

I like the two action shots, especially the first one.
