I believe there is a sensor cleaning setting in camera, which basically just vibrates the sensor until the dust falls off. That looks more serious to me than a little dust, but I don't think there's any harm in trying. I personally would never clean a sensor myself, I would take it to a camera shop. But if you post a new thread with that in the title, I'm sure there are plenty of people who have done it and know safe ways to do it.
