Manfrotto 322rc2 Joystick Head

I have had the 322rc2 Joystick Head for quite sometime now, and have delt with the "sticking" head when moving the camera after it sits for a few... seems to be as common problem with this particular head.

Just wondering if anyone has figured out any solutions to fix this problem, or has any suggestions to make it more smooth...

Had one for a long time. Never experienced any"sticking." Explain.

The only "stick" I experienced with mine was with the up and down tilt function, not the ball itself. That would be a big "sticky" to get moving at first once left for a short while, but would move smooth after it got going. Never found a fix for it, but must admit I never used the head that much (a good head just not suited to how I wanted to shoot).

Well, what it does is when you squeeze the trigger you have to forcefully get it to move. Not fluid or smooth at all. I have adjusted the friction and it does not make any diff. Its worse after sitting idle for some time, but still has the stick when moving it during shooting. You can't just squeeze and move you must squeeze and more often than not grab the lens and "break" it free.

How did you adjust the friction? If you used the wheel then that was not the friction but the grip. The friction control is an inset hex screw near the head.

Ohhh... didn't know that one... I'll try that. 'thanks very much gryphonslair... so maybe after adjusting the hex screw, then adjut the wheel as needed, huh?
