manual mode not working for me?

hey guys,
I'm new to these forums, so I apologise if it's in the wrong section.

My manual mode isnt working for me for some reason, i really don't know why..
My pictures keep coming out black!
Does anyone know why? i keep changing the settings but no luck.
I don't know whats wrong.. and no the lens isn't on

My guess is that you have mirror lock up turned on and you're only pressing the shutter button once. Press it once to lock up the mirror and then again to take the picture. Maybe you have set the shutter speed too fast also...

Do you know how to make a proper exposure? Correct shutter speed, aperture, and ISO? Or are you just making up settings?

The reason it's called manual mode is because you need to change the settings yourself. You really couldn't establish that it was user error and not a "broken" manual mode? Try some deductive reasoning, Watson. :thumbup:
