The sap here started to run for the first time yesterday. My neighbor makes syrup as a hobby and this year has a new boiler. He has 92 buckets out this year.
This is third boiler. The first few years he had a used boiler outside on cinder blocks, then he moved a new boiler inside the old garage. The steam filled the garage so he added the ventilated peak and opening side windows. This year he replaced the boiler with a new stainless steel boiler as well as adding a heated 60 US gal sap tank with an auto feeder with float control which is in the 6th picture. His finishing filter unit is in another building. He is having a ball. The new rig was fired up for the first time this morning.
