Here is a photo I took about 1.5 years ago. One of my favs. What do y'all think? Thanks Eric http://www.flickr.com/photos/ericbrian/2274795802/
in this one i wish there wasnt such a shallow DOF. still good colors could use a little brighter exposure if you ask me but just personal opinion.
I like it, find it nicely sharp where the focus is, and find it is no wonder DOF is so shallow, this being a macro shot. The colours are wonderful. What was your light source?
When I took this image, my flash fired. But also, coming through on the top of the tank were metal halides. Yes, the reason why I used the macro lense is so that I can get the polyps. They would have otherwise been too small. The same for this one: This picture on Flickr. Also, thank you for the kind words. (Hmmm... I wonder why the EXIF info isn't available. Does Flickr remove that info?)
Great shot, sharp and super colours. Did you have to use a filter to shoot cleanly through the water?
No, no filter. The photo with the green polyps had spots in it from particulates floating in the water. But, I photoshoped them away. I did not edit the second photo.
