I envy you macro photographers lol. I tried a million shots today of bumblebee's and they are hard little buggers to get a decent capture of. All hand held, had a reflector tossing light back up at the bush because it was a bit dark in spots.

I prefer the second one but still both are just meh. Any thoughts or tips?

Should I just sell this 105mm haha.

I definitely like the second one best. Nice comp and I like the little tidbits of flower detail at the bottom. Sure are some furry little buggers.

Thank you, yes they are and I am actually scared of bees but braved it out. I am determined I will at least use this bloody macro this summer before I sell it. Who knows I might actually enjoy it ones I get the hang of it.

I know but if you already have a portrait lens in that range and don't use it as a dedicated macro its kind of just gathering dust. Hah.

Excellent capture on the second one, it would have been nice with a lower f stop to get that front wing in focus but good regardless. The challange is getting these bugers in mid flight.
