I never tried it but if it is anything like vegemite than I might feel tempted to click on the "disgusting" answer of your poll ... even though I have only ever SMELLED vegemite... could NOT make myself EAT it. It seemed to be concentrated broth paste that I would use to make a broth with lots of water added.

Anyway, you have to spread it thin on your toast! Else as a beginner you would be in trouble It tastes different from what it smells like I would say. Sort of malty and salty. Vergy good when hungover

Why do they still make Filofaxes? And why do some people insist on buying them for you as birthday/Christmas presents?

That is a tough one ... Maybe because if they would not make them, one would never know what to buy as presents!

But that's easy... bad novelty socks and ties! Not forgetting ugly jumpers. That way, there's the added torment of knowing sooner or later you'll have to be seen wearing them so the relative in question isn't offended.

LOVE vegemite! Hot toast or crumpets, melted butter on it and vegemite spread into melted butter....yummmmm.

Marmite, as close as it is in consistency, color and appearances...tastes horrible. I grew up eating something very similiar, I know, but I almost barf when I smell marmite....go figure!

Vegemite looks like the handy-grease I use on my car and bikes, it smells foul and tastes like sh!t.
