Mass Processing of Images - Retouching.

Hello All,

I have a question that may or may not have been posted before as I am new to this forum. I have been on several cruises and it always amazes me that amount of photos they take and how fast they process them. I know that they are doing touch up on them because the skin looks real soft and the colors are vibrant. I know enough about this process semi-manually since I own a copy of Photoshop CC and Lightroom as well. My question is, does anyone on this forum know if they use mass processing software in the cruises (or any such mass processing environments)? I have been doing weddings lately and the amount of photos to process is getting out of hand. A couple of years ago, most pictures were Meh... so out of 200 I would end up with like 15-20 but as my skills progress I end up with many great ones and therefore more time spent retouching... Mostly female faces... I mean exposure and all that I can control with the camera manually is all good But people want to look their best in the photos... so processing hundreds of photos... yikes is taking too much time. Ideas? and thanks in advance.

It's called Batch Processing.

And/or they are likely using pre-recorded Actions.

For portrait type photos they are likely using something like Portraiture - Retouching Plugin for Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Lightroom and Apple Aperture
