Mennonite Country

A few weeks ago I headed up to Mennonite Country (a 75 minute drive from downtown Toronto) to see the covered wooden bridge at West Montrose. Moments after I arrived, just before the sun set, a Mennonite buggy came through the bridge and I was able to snap a picture of it. I was surprised they were in an open buggy, given how cold it was. Shortly after, a covered buggy came through.

I like the composition in the first one. Everything-down to the shadows of the rope and mounds of snow- lead your eye to the buggy. Neat subject- not something you see everyday.

Using the shadow/highlights tool on both of this will give add much interesting detail to your pictures.

The first is a winner for me. The sky is so blue and has a nice reflection on the snow. The composition is nice.

I LOVE the first one - it's perfect.

I see your images are ok to edit so the second one I rotated just a teeny bit and sharpened the tree and the buggy and it looks really neat but I like it the way it is too.

Hey, thanks Traveler. I've never used that tool and will have to play around with it, now that I see what a difference it can make.
