I just couldn't help myself on the title. This might be the start of a children's book!

I like this, though I wish the shoes of the lady in front were more prominent. I've seen the struggle in both the Mennonite and the stricter Amish as they try to maintain the old ways, yet can't resist the temptations of the outside world.

Many years ago, traveling through Amish country in PA I stopped to watch an Amish farmer driving a team of horses, pulling a corn picker with a gas motor on it through his field.

They were touring the Farmers Market in Los Angeles yesterday. I was surprised by how colorful their dresses were - bright greens and purples, e.g. I thought that wouldn't work with the old-fashioned look I was going for. I actually made one image almost sepia, but I could hear the hoots even before I posted it.
