Mentor/Tutor

So being new to photography, I believe that the best way for me to learn would be though a mentor.
I know there are many tutorials, and websites all over that could help me with this as well, but from the sites and places I've looked, it just doesn't seem to help me out as much as I wish it could.

6-7 years ago I started messing around with Adobe Photoshop. I got a few different people to privately tutor me, and be my mentors on the art of Graphic Design, and could now consider myself fairly advanced on the subject.
So I wish to do the same,

I'm sure there's not anyone out there that would really be willing to help a novice out, and get him on the road to becoming better at something he loves to do,
but in the slight chance there is, I would greatly appreciate it.
