be honest with you, when I'm done with the shoot, I usually smoke marijuana and I get lost in the editing and I wake up and realize that i take things to the extreme like ohh too much blurring, that shading is too heavy...

but over time ive come to accept that, every artist just says my style is just diff, its not like following the rules, its more just to be like how crazy can i make it.

its suppose to be, I think it looks sorta more "girly glamorous" like that. but yea this could look awesome too if it was sharp but i think it works like this too.

Taking it as a single image I would say the cropping is poor on both images. On the left image you have just a bit of her arm showing I would do either all or nothing. The right hand side I would make sure both arms are included.

Just being against the rules doesn't mean anything.
Your pictures either work or don't.
In this case, you've turned up the dial to 11 on everything for effect - and the picture turns to crap.
THis isn't art or style, it's the absence of both

Don't blame us for not liking it much though, eh? I'm not really feeling the edgy/street thing you seem to think you're going for, here, but it's been a few years since I was very street myself, so there's that.

There's something going on with the look here, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe there was some era of glamor that looked like this? Not sure. It feels like a Polaroid/vintage filter from instagram, applied to a not too bad glamor shot. She's a good model, and you lit her tolerably well. Looks a little blown out, but then that's the look, right?

A lot of great artists smoked pot. They were not great artists because they smoked.

This excuse, and that's exactly what it is, furthers the stereotypes of recreational MJ users as caste by mainstream society.

I think most of us do get that you are playing by your own rules; That's fine. But I don't think many of us are trying to create something for the "high class art world" or something for the streets. Most of us are just trying to create images that are interesting and appealing without the need to be viewed "when blazin' or whatever". If your photographs are appreciated by your peers and your clients that's really all that matters: But the opinions expressed here reflect a wide range of experience and skill levels and they are not without merit. You shouldn't expect everyone here to praise your work the way your homies do. To some of us it's just not praiseworthy


P.S. I sparked a fatty last night and I still didn't like your photos . But I really wanted a Twinkie :mrgreen:

this picture has the exact same effect as the ones in his your first post. at least they are consistent. i agree with most of what's been said here. although i don't care for the weird effect this process gives the skin, (posterized) -i like them.

i would love to see this shot with a little more fill flash, and a lot less on the effects slider. the posing is great, and I love her facial expression.
i will say however, that as is, this reminds me of posters on the walls of music stores back in the 80's. kinda nostalgic even. almost seems.....kinda retro urban, in a sense. maybe i just haven't smoked weed in so long ive lost touch.
