Hey, wondering if anyone knows whether the both the aperture and shutter speed can be manually set on this camera? I've found different things on the web saying both that the shutter speed will be automatically set by the camera based on the aperture but also that this can be overridden. Any insight is appreciated!

Yes you can set the shutter and f/stop manually on the XG-M. In auto mode the camera will function as an aperture priority or program mode camera.
