Unfortunately on this image, me thinks you can bump til the cows some home and not get much response...there just isn't anything of great interest in the image - maybe if you cropped at the top of the shadow you might spark some interest.

I don't hate it. I think it's a nice composition, well balanced with some textural interest in there and a pleasing set of tones.

I don't really get it, either. I can't help but feel like it's upside down. As an abstract, this is the correct orientation -- dark tones down, light tones up. As a picture of a thing, I feel like I am looking at floor joists for the floor above, and that you've flipped it over. This contradiction definitely detracts.

Also, I don't really get any sensation looking at this beyond 'hmm, cool shadows'.
