Trying out some new lighting techniques I picked up from another board.
Not so sure about the crop.

Edit: Sharpen & resize for web, crop, frame.

I love this! What a great spot for a portrait. I think the cropping is fine. The only thing I might try is cropping the grass out, but I really don't think you need to. I like the context it adds to the image. Mind sharing what your lighting technique was?

Yeah, at first I cropped out the grass. But like you liked what it added to the photo.

Ok, this is my first time using it so I still have to refine it but this is how it goes. You need two light sources, third if you want fill in front. I used the sun as one light source to the left(in photo), and my flash on the tripod to the right(in photo). Had on camera flash turned on. Metered for the sky.

Blew out my highlights on the first few but the last 30 the sky came out SOOOOO blue. I have never felt so good about my sky's before lol
