People back in the day had to work to live, eat, survive. Now we put our clothes in the fridge to get them nice and cool for that trip in the car to the local market.....


If I'm thinking right the OP means people of today with the luxuries will have to live like people of tomorrow after some Apocalypse?

So the people of yesteryear are what we will look like after next year or something.

According to the article, they're not running fridges. Peops in tiny apartments who have large wardrobes are storing clothing in their kitchens, because their closets of full. One woman asked to have the gas turned off so she could safely store clothing in the oven. The contrast is that in the old photos, people are growing food to last an entire year, and the modern people are giving up the ability to prepare their own food altogether, in order to accommodate a fashionable lifestyle.

That's what I took from it, but I think if that's the point you're going to make, this wasn't all that successful a way to do it.
