This has a very classic Asian landscape feeling to it, with the nine different depth planes and the monochromatic treatment. Nice one!!!!!

The Synthesis of Chinese Landscape Painting and Photography

I think this article and the illustrations will show what I meant. The depth planes in your shot are almost a perfect example of the ancient Chinese way of rendering the near, mid-, and far zones, using aerial perspective or fog to show distance.

When the Chinese were painting in this style, using aerial perspective, the best artists in Europe were still drawing black charcoal lines around their figures...and had very little idea of how to convey distance in a realistic manner.
